Kanakadasa Jayanti is an auspicious occasion celebrating the birth of the renowned saint, poet, and philosopher Kanakadasa.
This year on 18th November 2024, our school ST. Joseph’s Central School, Vijayanagar, commemorated this special day with enthusiasm and reverence, bringing staff and non- teaching staff together to honor Kanakadasa’s legacy.
The day began with a prayer where Mrs. Theresia delivered importance of the day about Kanakadasa’s life and contributions to literature, music, and philosophy.
A short biography presentation highlighted the significant events and teachings of Kanakadasa, emphasizing his devotion to Lord Krishna and his works in the Kannada language.
Hearing a Kanakadasa Keertane sung by Mr. Mahesh would truly bring his devotional poetry to life! This keertane (devotional song) could narrate his unwavering devotion and profound spirituality. Imagine the serene melodies filling the school hall, echoing the timeless teachings of Kanakadasa.
Conclusion: The Kanakadasa Jayanti celebration at our school was a memorable and enlightening experience, fostering a deeper understanding and respect for the cultural and spiritual heritage of Karnataka.
