Annual Sports Day 2023-24 was celebrated with great enthusiasm in ST.JOSPEH’S CENTRAL SCHOOL, VIJAYNAGAR, MYSURU on 9th December 2023.

School sports day is an eagerly awaited event that unites students, teachers, and parents in the celebration of athleticism, camaraderie, and spirited competition. It is a day when the entire school community comes together to showcase their talents, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Our school’s sports day is a highlight of the academic calendar, an occasion filled with excitement, joy, and a sense of achievement. The event was graced by Honorable Cheif Guest Dr. Savitha Prashanth, Assistant Professor in JSS college of Arts,Commerce & Science, Mysuru , presided by Rev. Father VijayKumar – Secretary, MDES , Mrs. Joyce Lobo – CEO , MDES Mrs Elizabeth Thomas – Administrative Principal and Mrs Mary Margaret Nirmala – Academic Principal.

The program started with the introductory speech given by our Principal ma’am Mrs Elizabeth Thomas, followed by Rev. Father VijayKumar and our Cheif Guest Dr. Savitha Prashanth. The School’s playground was overflowing with zeal, passion and excitement. The students displayed a wide array of energetic and bouncy sports events ranging from the Band display, March Past, Dance events, Drill events, Relay Races ,100 metres Race, 200 metres Race. They mesmerized the audience with their energetic performances. The proud parents could be seen filled with happiness watching their kids participating enthusiastically. Games and sports have become an integral element of present day education. They teach them the qualities of discipline, sportsmanship, team spirit and leadership.

They also enhance the physical and mental development of children. The parents also got an opportunity to prove their physical fitness by participating in games and they proved that age is no bar for participating and winning on the games. As the day draws to a close, the closing ceremony is a moment of reflection and recognition. Winners receive medals and trophies, and every participant is acknowledged for their efforts. The spirit of friendly competition prevails, and the entire school community comes together to celebrate the achievements and efforts of each student.
